200,000 Pound Column Erection Under Bridge

Zieman Engineering designed the erection procedures and equipment to install new tower legs to existing towers for
seismic retrofit. The legs were up to 200,000 pound and up to 160 feet long, and were delivered horizontally on a barge, pivoted
to near vertical with a crane, connected to a jacking device under the bridge, then positioned at the bottom using a guide system.
