Ferris Wheel Erection Procedure

Zieman Engineering performed construction engineering review and temporary structures design for construction
of the world’s largest ferris wheel. Tasks included:

• Review of leg erection stresses, temporary supports for leg erection, and radial struts for rim erection.
• Modeling and analysis of wheel for construction procedures, monitoring, stress checks and geometry control
  during all stages of construction.
• Design of holdback tower to rotate rim during sequential construction, and design of cable tensioning
  devices.
