60 Inch Diameter Horizontal Core Drill

Zieman Engineering designed this custom core drilling assembly to drill a 60 inch diameter hole horizontally through
a 78 inch thick concrete wall at the bottom of a 50 foot deep shaft which was filled with 25 feet of water. The work was
required in order to divert sewage flow to the new treatment plant. The system was powered by hydraulic motors
to turn the drive shaft and with hydraulic cylinders to move the drill bit, and had a cable system to retrieve the core.
