Williamsburg Bridge – Hydraulically Rotating Cart

Zieman Engineering designed this cart to transport demolished deck material and new orthotropic panels along the bridge.
Due to the clearances along the roadway, panels had to be loaded on the cart horizontally, then lifted and rotated to 30
degrees to pass through the existing tower portal, and lifted and rotated to 60 degrees to enter in to the gantry. Lifting and
rotation was achieved by hydraulic cylinders controlled by a power unit mounted on the cart.
